Description

This wine is pale lemon in colour with a fresh, vivacious nose that displays aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, with hints of Mediterranean flowers. It is crisp and refreshing on the palate with a lifted acidity that lingers on the dry finish.

This wine is made from grapes grown in the hills of the Trapani province in Western Sicily. Soils here are calcareous and of medium consistency, and the vines are trained using vertical shoot positioning with spurred pruning.

The Borgo Selene wines are made and blended by acclaimed winemaker and consultant Alberto Antonini, at the Curatolo Arini family winery. ‘Borgo Selene’ takes its name from the Greek goddess of the moon, referencing the influence that the Greeks, who first brought vines to Sicily, have had on the Mediterranean’s largest island.

The white blends native Catarratto with Inzolia varieties, creating a lifted, fresh and generous expression. Meanwhile, the red, made from Nero d‘Avola and Nerello Mascalese, offers surprising depth for this price.
