Description

From Syria's only private wine estate, this is a blend of 60% Syrah and 20% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Packed with fruit and spice, it's a dinner party wine to impress, and what a talking point! Black pepper sprinkled summer fruits - bowls of plums and intense blackcurrant coulis, a dusting of cocoa and cinnamon. Rich yet with great lift and precision to the finish, and fine tannins.

"The Syrian Vineyard making the world's most dangerous wine" - The Telegraph. Against the odds, we are so happy to stock this wine. Made despite great adversity with the help of outstanding consultant Stephane Derenencourt, the Saadé brothers, Sandro and Karim, farm this fantastic vineyard 900m above sea level with shingle and limestone terroirs. Situated just near the port of Latakia ( once known as Laodicea) and near what was the ancient city of Antioch, this is home to some of the most ancient vineyards in the world, producing for over 3000 years.
